Suriya, the goodwill ambassador of a kidney research foundation, participated in the World Kidney Day celebrations held by them recently.

Two young girls, one a thirteen year old and another a ten year old, gave away their paintings to be auctioned towards helping the needy and ailing patients. Suriya honoured the two young girls Anjali Chandrasekhar and Gayatri Neelakantan by presenting a memento, undersigned by him, to them.

That was not all. The good-looking actor took everyone by surprise when he himself started off the auction by buying a painting of Anjali for a whopping Rs 1 lakh.

He also read out a light-hearted message sent by his wife Jyothika for International Women’s Day and this had the audiences in splits owing to the subtle humour.
